The anesthesia tutor will support the academic functions of the college assigned for the achievement of set missions at college and department levels.</div><strong>Reporting structure:</strong><br />The Tutor will report to the respective department head or dean of the institution<br />&nbsp;<br /><strong>Major Responsibilities:</strong><br />Regardless of the duty station, the main duties/ expectations will remain to be:<ul><li>Teach anesthesia professional courses (in the class room, skills lab &amp; clinical practice areas);</li><li>Prepare syllabus &amp; session plans for courses to be taught beforehand;</li><li>Assess students&rsquo; progress and performance;</li><li>Provide regular feedbacks to students;</li><li>Submit results of students&rsquo; assessment on time based on continuous assessment methods;</li><li>Demonstrate accurate and up-to-date knowledge of content;</li><li>Mentor new instructors of the hosting institution on Anesthesia clinical practice and teaching skills by playing an active role in the transfer of knowledge and skill;</li><li>Set up/ support regular educational quality assessment and improvement efforts of the institution for quality teaching;</li><li>Present prepared materials, supervise organized skill laboratory activities and record students&rsquo; progress;</li><li>Organize &amp; present instructional material as per the college&rsquo;s scheduled time and place;</li><li>Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate records and files reports promptly;</li><li>Maintaining discipline and order during instructional activities;</li><li>Perform early planning and assessments of clinical practical sties to analyze the existing field situation before the actual practice of students commences and make necessary preparation in advance;</li><li>Take the leadership role to implement evidence-based practice;</li><li>Engage in the peer review process;</li><li>Develop a positive, cooperative and respectful working relationship;</li><li>Meet professional standards and ethical conducts in relation to students and colleagues;</li><li>Demonstrates appropriate personal contact while in performance of school duties;</li><li>Demonstrates professional practices in teaching;</li><li>Follow professional practices in consistent with the health science college and system policies in working with students, students&rsquo; records, and colleagues;</li><li>Demonstrate appropriate communication and interpersonal skills as they relate to interaction with students, other teachers, administrators, other school personnel and EAA;</li><li>Participate in professional development opportunities/ activities relevant to anesthesia education &amp; practice &amp; apply updated concepts in the teaching and learning activities;</li><li>Works together with clinical preceptors and/or clinical staff to ensure learning outcomes are achieved during practical placements;</li><li>Undertake any other duties as so requested by EAA &amp; hosting institutions;</li></ul><strong>Expected deliverables:</strong><br />The deliverables to be submitted by Anesthesia Tutor are:<ol><li>Monthly activity plans and reports;</li><li>Student&rsquo;s progress reports/Assessment reports;</li><li>Developed &amp; printed instructional aids (TTLM) that supplement instruction;</li><li>Mentoring &amp; supportive supervision reports made for newly hired Anesthesia instructors of host institutions;</li><li>Post supportive supervision report/tools;</li></ol>

<strong>Required skill and abilities:</strong><ul><li>Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as Anesthesiology professional;</li><li>Ability to work in a resource deprived environment with multiple tasks;</li><li>Experience with mobile health applications and mobile data collection tools;</li><li>Effective communication in English and Amharic (written and oral) with strong presentation and writing skills;</li><li>Computer Literacy (Word, Excel and power point);</li><li>Ability to work &amp; teach at least 4 days per week in operation room;</li><li>Ability to work on assigned teaching institution &amp; region;</li></ul><strong>Required Education &amp; Qualifications:</strong> <ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s or above degree in Anesthesia with sound academic record of cumulative GPA of 2.75, or above;</li><li>Minimum of two years of teaching experience in anesthesia training institutions or as clinical preceptor in affiliated Hospitals;</li><li>Fluency in English &amp; Amharic, while TIGRIGNA is a MUST for Tigray region applicants and OROMIFFA is a MUST for OROMIA region applicants;</li></ul><strong>Salary:</strong> Competitive and attractive<br />&nbsp;
